I don't think I believe in Gods. Just men that believe themselves powerful enough to rule over our minds and souls. I worry that whispering to my own mind allows entry for these ...things... to approach and latch on. But I still pray for strength and hope. I hope my prayers are caught in the wind, in the water, in the earth, and the fire.. and they are carried to where they are needed. During this gruesome battle over the weekend, I found solace in my anger, in my stubbornness, in my strength. I found peace in knowing that no matter how weak we are perceived... our willpower, our desire, and our love for our home can give us the strength to endure any pain. When we sat down at the end of the day after such a major loss at the central pillar, I didn't find myself driven by fear. I found the old days and the new days converging into one memory. Jasmine laying on the bench before i had truly met her... before she had died, Red sitting in front of me, Charr readying for war, Paco serving drinks, Higgs counting dead Yutay, Oswald fearing for my safety.. When I lose my way, when I am afraid... whatever the universe may be, remind me of the past and show me the way. May everything that binds and weaves us together allow our memories to persist. May this vision of my past be real... and allow the ones we've lost to sit next to the ones we've gained. May nothing feel lost, but a ripple in the ocean being carried by the waves of our past. I deny all powerful entities entry into my mind and soul, but When I go, let my memories become nourishment for those who come after me so that they too can find peace in this life and the next. Let my compassion and my fury uncloud the judgement of others so that we may create a life beyond hatred and death.

A Single, Fatal Spark
The descent into civil war began with an event that many in the Lower City felt was forced upon them—a parade designed for Upper City elites to venture down and observe a world they have otherwise ignored. The profound divide between the two populations had long fostered quiet tensions, but no one could have anticipated the abruptness of the bloodshed. The peace shattered when an altercation during the parade culminated in an Upper City attendee drawing a weapon and shooting a Lower City resident. That single, sudden attack was the catalyst for the devastation that followed.
"One moment there was music, and the next, only screaming," recalled a surviving local, their voice hollow with shock. "It wasn't a battle at first. It was just a senseless killing. Their bots and soldiers descended upon all of us and started firing into the crowds. I was lucky to make it out of there alive."
Four Days of Unrelenting Subjugation
What began as a localized tragedy on the parade route has been met with a disproportionate and overwhelming military response from the Upper City, while local fighters sprang into action, seeking to punish the unwanted guests in their homes. Heavily armed forces have been sent down en masse, turning the areas surrounding the city's structural pillars into battlegrounds between the Upper City's soldiers and mechs, and the corporations, mercenary companies, and freelance fighters that have long dominated the Lower City's ecosystem. For generations, the Lower City had managed to carve out a difficult but resolute independence, living outside the jurisdiction of the city above them, and instead allowing themselves to be governed by a self-appointed council of local oligarchs. Now, that autonomy is being systematically threatened, as the Upper City continues to assault key points of infrastructure and the private facilities owned by the Lower City councilmen.
A Scarcely Breathable Grief
As the conflict enters its fourth day, much of the infrastructure of the Lower City has begun to collapse, and the estimated death toll continues to climb as civilians attempt to evacuate or seek shelter in corporate-sanctioned bunkers. Basic necessities have vanished, hospitals are overwhelmed or reduced to rubble, and many families remain trapped in the crossfire of a conflict that shows no sign of abating, while the streets remain choked with dark, heavy smoke, blotting out the light of the upper levels.

For those wondering: - Yes I was in the fighting in Zaphira. - No, I'm still not dead. - Yes, I will keep fighting. - No, you can't stop me.

I'm sure there's a few that wont be happy to hear this but hey .. I aint goin just sit around safe in a hole in the ground while a world ends this time. Was out doing my usual and came across a family tryin to hide in some rubble. Couldn't just leave em so I took them to one of those evac places. In the process of doing so I learned something interesting. If you shoot fancy space armor in the face with a couple phosphorus AP rifle rounds, one of three things usually happens: 1: Whoever's inside is surprised by a new sun attached to their face plate. 2: The visor gets hot enough that the armor stops being as clever, and the next AP round gets to make a new friend. 3: They suddenly remember they had somewhere else to be at remarkable speed. Phosphorus AP rounds make a surprisingly convincing counterargument. Science is neat aint it?
