Bay 09 Alleyway review #2 This one is a lot smaller than the last one but still has some good potential to rob or be robbed it's simplistic and dark a classic alleyway for sketchy things. I'll give it 4 out of 10

It's kind of a weird feeling, suddenly being confronted with the idea that you're not the only person from your world. That you're not alone in your experiences. I think tonight was the first time I cried since I got here.

In my world, there was once a Sun Goddess who existed before me. I'm her reincarnation, Fiamma, but we're both the "Wings of Light", born in separate eras. I'm very different than her, and I usually don't see eye-to-eye with what she believed. For one, I'm a pacifist, but my predecessor believed that the single most righteous life purpose, that anyone could undertake, was to seek out and destroy evil... in whatever shape it takes, and whatever face it wears. Without hesitation. So one day I asked our sister, Faye, the Goddess of Nature, why she thought the previous Wings of Light believed that. 'Isn't evil subjective?' I asked her. 'It isn't cleanly divided into black and white! If someone dedicates their life to extinguishing evil, won't they eventually decide that everything they personally rebuke is evil? And if that happens... won't they become evil too?' Faye just scoffed like she didn't even have to think about it. "Yeah, they will. She believed that because she's stupid." She told me there's nothing sacred about devoting your life to destroying evil, because all you're really doing is forcing your own definition of evil onto everyone else. You begin one crusade after another, convinced you're purifying the world. Eventually someone else rises to stop you, believing you're the evil that must be destroyed. Even those who sincerely wish to save the world can commit unimaginable cruelty without remorse, if they're convinced their victims are evil. Every victory over evil creates the defeated, and then the defeated bury their dead, clench their teeth, and whisper about "Evil" under their breath, swearing they'll be the ones to destroy it. I asked Faye if that meant nobody should ever try to destroy evil. She scoffed even louder. "I didn't say that." She continued, "Everyone should follow their own convictions and stand by what they believe. For as long as they live, they should do whatever they genuinely think is right." I was REALLY confused by now. 'But... You just said there's nothing sacred about devoting your life to destroying evil?' "There isn't." I asked her what the difference was. "If your purpose is to destroy evil, you'll spend your life searching for enemies. Eventually you'll find them everywhere. But if you simply walk your own path, protect what you love, help who you can and try with sincerity to make whatever portion of the world you travel through a better place, you'll still fight evil whenever it stands before you. You just won't need evil to justify your existence as some kind of dumb crusader of self-defined righteousness." I thought about it for a while, and then I asked her if she believed that evil can ever really be destroyed. She got really serious all of a sudden and wouldn't make eye contact with me again as she spoke to me. "...Well. Good and evil will destroy each other forever. There's nothing divine about that, it's simply just... what happens. And that's something I just know is true. So don't waste your life trying to purge the world. Just live honestly and stand by your convictions, and one day, if someone kills you because they believe you're evil... then you can die knowing you never betrayed yourself. That's good enough to take to your end, for God and Mortal alike, whether we like it or not." And then she flew away. That was the last time that me and her talked to each other, just the two of us. More than five and a half centuries ago.
