Four hours later I'm questioning every life decision that brought me to staring at two pieces of steel rubbing together that measurements say are exactly to spec.... but keep wobbling like I'm putting a 9mil into a .45 chamber.

It was the hinge pin that connects the upper receiver to the lower I got the classic: Part A: "I'm in spec." Part B: "I'm in spec." Together: "We're going to ruin your afternoon." Nothing catastrophic. Just one of those issues that makes you stare at a caliper wondering if it's lying to you.
