One of the things I enjoy the most that I haven’t been able to do much until very recently has been soaring through the skies or flowing through tight ravines in my FA-18F Super Hornet. She’s an old beast, highly temperamental, and built tough. By the gods- it’s such a euphoric feeling to fly her. Being in dogfights, gun runs, and strike missions just hits the spot for the thrill junkie in me. She’s a two seater so normally I’d have a wingman, but my wife flies an FA-18E single seater so I’m alone when I fly now. IDK, maybe I should sell the bird and put the money towards a single seater. Not sure who would tolerate being my WSO with how crazy I tend to turn, haha. But nothing ever beats the feeling of being groggy at 5 AM in the morning, smelling the ocean water, hearing those twin engines sing, and then getting the sleepiness torn from you as the electromagnetic catapult fast balls you straight into the air. Best morning coffee in the entire multiverse.
