Ranged. People that run into melee usually get ganked or refuse to work cooperatively for me. Squad tactics all the way.

Guns remove the fighter from a fight, end things too quickly, and remove a certain…personality from the fight. So I prefer melee and personally use a battle axe. I like how personal melee fights are, a test of skill between two fighters, and their personalities reflected in their fighting styles.
