"And when the conflict ended, the soldier looked at themselves in the mirror, and they found only fang and claw. They screamed 'It was worth it!' For their maw was soaked deep crimson with atrocities. They had to accept the reality of who they were now, otherwise they would break. 'If they aren't like me.. then.. they didn't do enough!' They howled into the abyss. They only accepted the companionship of others who equivalently unmade themselves, and for the rest of their lives, they only saw evil and corruption. They were a dog bred by war, for war, forever and always, always searching for the next war, the next battle, the next conflict, to find their never answered answers- 'am I worth it? Was it enough?' Ones that no one in their pack could answer satisfyingly."
