I wonder what my younger self in Faerun would think of me, willingly watching over an Elf 24/7 to make sure he lives. I used to be terrified of them, now one is one of my closest friends.

I feel like that can be extending to almost all aspects of what you've gone through since you were in Faerun... What advice would you give your younger self at this point?

What advice? Uh, write down everything cause you're eventually going to have amnesia in the future and only remember Faerun except for flashes and weird feelings towards people you probably knew? A more serious answer would be: Don't worry about people looking at you differently, just because they treat you like you're a freak now doesn't mean everyone sees you that way. It's okay to be vulnerable.

TBH I needed the advice to write things down. Amnesia or not I just cant remember things. "it's okay to be vulnerable" goes way harder than I expected. Def something a lot of us need right now too.

I hope these past few weeks have treated you well Vupa. It is nice to see you posting.

Thank you. We...knew each other at some point, I assume? Seeing your name gave me a sensation of familiarity. I apologize if that is the case, I've been told I should not feel guilty for not remembering anything but I can tell it hurts to be forgotten every time someone has come up to me and said my name.

We did know each other, though it's been a few years at this point since we've chatted. I fell off the map and have spent quite some time away from... everything? You definitely don't need to feel guilty about this one, promise. No hurt from my side at all, remembering people is not my strong suit either.

That just means we both have a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully Lance can fix me soon so I may remember you.

It's true! That made me smile, I haven't spoken to anyone from my past in quite some time. How is Lance doing?

He is doing well! I live with him now, though I don't recall if I did in the past. I show him this app occasionally cause he doesn't want to use it himself.

I'm so glad. I don't recall if you did in the past, a lot of my memories are hazy from that time. I also totally get not wanting to use the app. I didn't for some time until I saw a very old friend posting. Not that I'll ever interact with them! ha.

Well if you ever have anything you'd like to say to him, you can send me a message and I'll relay it to him.

Just pass on my well wishes. I hope you both and any of the others around you stay safe.

A lot can change in an instant in our lives, and suddenly we find ourselves standing side by side with the same people we might've once feared, but that's the beauty in it and the thing we once missed—they've always been people too.

The fact that they are people was the thing that was terrifying. That they willingly chose to destroy most of the world and enslave those they thought were beneath them even though they were people just like us. I was more comfortable around the monsters in the slave pits than I was amongst the nobles at their parties. Though, you are correct, I try not to let it become prejudice.

Of course, and I'm sorry you had to experience such horrid treatment; however, as a non-elf who grew up around wood elves in their forest home, my experiences in living among elven kind was nothing like what you described. Even after in the pain that my eventual exile from my home caused, I didn't hold anger against them, as they were only doing what they thought was best to keep the people they loved and lived with safe, in the face of one of their own becoming something they weren't able to understand.

The Elves from my version of Faerun were uh, different than most Faeruns. At some point after the Nether Brain incident, every Elf on the Sword Coast united under one man, Emperor Zinris. Without going into the whole history, they began using ancient magic that Elves used in the past, the same that destroyed the city below Waterdeep. Eventually they sealed the Gods away, and only their Clerics had their powers still. I do believe you when you say your experience is different, from what everyone has told me our Faerun is the exception.
